Not much time for posting lately. We went on a cruise--I got sick the first night -- my birthday--spent the next 3 days in my cabin. Finally got out on Thursday morning. We had fun the rest of the time.

Now we are in Texas with John and his family. We have very much enjoyed visiting this week with the little boys. Michael and John have had a wonderful time in the garage making a new work area for John. They come up with SUCH imaginative ideas. I told Michael he needs to implement some of these in his own shop.

We head home to Oregon on Satruday. I have a TON of bookwork to catch up on for my accounting client. Lots of invoicing to do and records to update for the tax guy. So I will be very busy for the whole week after we get home. I also do my second stint with my supervisor for WCSO in enforcing handicap parking. I think I am going to enjoy this volunteer work.

MY FIRST MOEBIUS - - - WIP

I first saw one of these at the Crochet Convention in September. Through the kindness of a member of our local CGA, I got a pattern. (thanks Bonnie) All the different textures make this a GREAT piece. I can hardly wait to wear my new creation. I will for sure be making more of these in various colors/textures/weights. Hook Caddy

I crocheted my first "caddy" for my hooks. The pattern was a bit confusing at first, but once I figured it out, it went like a breeze!

Scarves & Sweaters

Here are some of my latest projects. I got in a scarf "frenzy" and needed some new ones for the winter. So I grabbed a variety of yarns, patterns, and started crocheting! I love the multi-blue ribbon one. It crocheted up so fast. It feels much softer than I thought ribbon would.










This is my first ever pullover sweater. I did not get to keep it long, as my daughter snatched it as soon as she saw it and fell in love with it.















This is my second pullover. I got to keep this one! LOL

Packers Home Opener

Eric and I attended the home opener on Sept 8 against the Vikings. It was a great win!

Heart shawl

This was one of the free patterns offered a few days ago and I fell in love with it. I happened to have the right kind of yarn on hand, so did it up in the last 2 days. I love it. Hmmm....maybe someone will get it in a shawl exchange ?

My first free form project

This is my first ever attempt at free form crochet. I was not confident enough to just make a purse out of all the little pieces so I crocheted a bag and then sewed the free form pieces onto it. I just have to add handles (purchased) and it will be done. My daughter fell in love with it and tried to take it home!

Finished sweater

This is the finished sweater. Thanks to hints from the gathering room gals, I was able to sew the seams and it looks OK. This is my first sweater project and I am pleased with the way it turned out. I am ready to start another one!

Yard sale yarn hubby found

This is the yarn that hubby found for me at a garage sale. Mostly new stuff valued at up to 14.99 per! Eyelash, ribbon, cashmere, chenille, you name it. We figured there was almost $500 worth of stuff he got!! What a guy!!

Sweater project

This is the sweater in progress. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to join the sweater together as everything I have tried so far shows the stitches really badly. Any help out there?

Packer Cammo Purse

For those that want to be a little less traditional, but still show their team spirit, I created this "cammo" purse out of fabric I found in Green Bay. I added a larger "G" so there would be no mistaking it was a Packer purse. My DH said he would use it for an ammo bag. NOT :-)

Packer Purse

I love having a Packer purse to carry around to show I love my team. I only have totes left as I have given away all my purses. I found this "tiger stripe" fabric when I was in Green Bay in cotton duck and figured it would make a great purse. I hand quilted some of the logos, lined it and added the Packer "G".

Packers Players cruise 2008

This was my second Packer Cruise--really enjoyed seeing players and meeting up with old friends.

A few of my crochet projects

Tips to make our lives easier

1-Safety pins work as quick stitch markers



2-Use a dental floss threader to thread beads onto your worsted weight yarn. Much easier than trying to make sure the hook will go through the bead.



3-Buy an extra pencil pouch next time you are in the store. A zipper pouch is perfect for keeping all your small supplies together--scissors, crochet hooks, tape measure, etc.



4-Use sticky notes to mark your place on your pattern. This has saved me from getting lost, as I am prone to do.

I have finally decided to create my own blog to post my crochet projects. It will definitely be a work in progress for the next few weeks.
